Substance Use Disorders: A Chronic Disease covers the natural history of alcoholism and other drug dependence, stages of addiction as a chronic disease, and the criteria used for diagnosis.  Participants will also learn new terms, definitions, prevalence and indicators of substance use, abuse, dependence and addiction.
